About Disc Golf Guru

The Vision Behind the Platform

Disc Golf Guru was born from a simple observation: while disc golf has grown tremendously in popularity, and more and more detailed data has become available, players at the amateur and local pro levels lacked access to their statistics without manual aggregation.

We set out to change that by providing the average player with the kind of data that was previously only available for the pro tour. Today the app gives you a player profile with recent events, a featured event with Stats (donut charts), Scorecards (hole-by-hole details and vs. field), and Compare (side-by-side with another player in the same division). Below that, Player Stats line charts show how key stats change over rounds or events, and Analytics (Beta) shows which stats correlate most with your round rating.

Our Vision

To make comprehensive data and advanced performance insights accessible to every player, regardless of skill level.

Our Approach

We aggregate the publicly available data from a player's participation in sanctioned events and provide a comprehensive, player-centric view, along with our beta version of ratings analytics.

Our Goal

Continuous improvement based on user feedback, with regular updates and new features to enhance the disc golf experience with data-driven insights.

Ryan Decker

Developer & Disc Golf Enthusiast

Ryan Decker (PDGA #268910) is a passionate disc golfer and software designer/developer who created Disc Golf Guru because he wanted to one-up his brother, who was tracking his stats in a spreadsheet. With a background in web development, and a love for the sport, he was happy enough with the result that he decided to share it with the rest of the disc golf community.

He currently plans to spend more time improving his currently poor C1X putting performance than maintaining the site...at least until he comes up with the next cool idea.
